CHALLENGE:
As a post-secondary institution with a primary focus on two-year trades and technology programs, SAIT tends not to evoke in its alumni a kind of “my-old-alma-mater” sentiment. SAIT students tend to get in, get their applied education and get to work. It’s great for the students, but not so great for building an alumni community that stays connected and contributes to their former post-secondary school.
SOLUTION:
SAIT enlisted IVY to help produce a magazine that would engage ambivalent alumni; a piece they couldn’t help but flip through when it arrived in the mail. It worked. By the second issue, readership surveys showed a leap in alumni engagement and the magazine was winning design awards. It was the start of a very, very productive partnership.
Between 2011 and 2019, IVY crafted coffee table books, invitations, guides, ads, reports, calendars, visual identities, brochures, donor reports and more for SAIT. During this period, we executed 130 projects for the institution, including providing design, art direction and editorial support for 22 issues of LINK magazine.
