IVY has a full-time position for a social media and content specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be accountable for planning and producing social media content for various client accounts across social media platforms. The candidate will also be responsible for blog writing and other content as required. This position is hybrid, and the candidate must be available to work at our office in Calgary ~3-4 days a week

IVY is a Calgary-based, boutique marketing agency with a different agency model. We partner with small and medium size companies to provide the kind of strategic, marketing and creative services that big companies have in-house. Our clients typically retain us for monthly services that include branding and integrated marketing tactics that have a measurable impact on sales. Content and social media are an integral part of how we do this.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities will include:
CONTENT CREATION
- Working with IVY’s social media and content manager, develop content aligned to clients’ strategic objectives
- Conduct interviews with blog subjects or subject matter experts
- Engage with clients for information gathering and content approvals
- Research and write blogs and social media posts as required, per client campaign strategy
- Plan, source and/or and assign graphic design requirements for social posts.
- Film and edit videos for social media channels
- Identify and bring forward ideas for curated and original content
SOCIAL MEDIA
- Schedule, format and optimize posts for each client/channel through a social media management platform
- Engage with social media audiences to foster engagement
- Ensure all posts are proofed, tested, finalized and correctly published across channels
- Trouble-shoot social media channel issues
TEAM COLLABORATION
- Attend and contribute to team creative meetings
- Work with design team on visuals for social media content
- Collaborate with communications team on messaging and campaign ideas
Skills & Experience:
- Fluency in social media across channels
- Degree or diploma in journalism, communications, marketing, or a related experience.
- 2+ years of experience in a professional communications/journalism/marketing role
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and an eye for detail.
- A clear understanding of social media management and strategy. Experience with analytics software is an asset.
- Experience with design, videography and photography for social media is a plus.
- Experience in an agency setting is an asset.
- Self-directed and responsible. Capable of independent work as well as effective team collaboration
- Professional conduct and good interpersonal skills
- Multi-tasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong technology and troubleshooting literacy
- Agile, flexible and solutions focussed.
